Toronto is the only team that can sign him to 8 years. So if they want 8 years they need Toronto to sign him and trade him to the oilers. The pick hasn’t been agreed on yet, which is why there are 2 contracts. Toronto’s options are lose him for nothing (then he signs a 7 year deal) or sign and trade and get a late round pick back (and Hyman gets an 8 year deal)
