Sutter is pretty good at making sure players are played to their strength, and the Flames PK last year was wholly underwhelming for the most part. So when you lose Ryan and a couple other guys that were on it, you need replacements.

It was more of a statement on the lack of success in Calgary's systems. You can bring in all the great players you want (Pitlick is not a great players), but if they are playing flawed systems they are not going to achieve success. Our PK last year was not good and it was because of the passive system they were playing. Unless we have a different approach to killing penalties you could have all the Selke trophy winners in the world out there and we're still going to get owned. Pitlick may be a good penalty killer, but claiming he's going to come here and do the same as he did in Arizona is what is ridiculous, and you know it.
