once or twice not much damage. But when you do it constantly every single year, you are reducing your chances at landing a good cost-controlled NHL players. The best teams are built through the draft, not with replacement players. I honestly would not even mind the replacement players if this team was competitive but we are nowhere close to being competitive AND burning draft picks for not great players
