Well you're taking those quotes way out of context. No one anywhere is denying there's a lack of talent the like of McDavid or Lafreniere or even a Jack Hughes. But that's what they mean, there's no super stud at the tippy top of the Draft. Outside of the top 5 it's like any other draft. The uncertainty lies at the bottom half of the first round. This is where you'll see more over agers go than usual because they have a better read on them. That's why the 2nd round picks will be more valuable.

So yeah, saying there's very little talent is a pretty disingenuous opinion. Especially if the information you're using is out of context.
