But Seattle taking Gio from us? #### those #######s and their crappy team. I hope they fold after 3 seasons. Also, the Sounders and Seahawks both suck too.

It's almost a given that the Kraken team will be better than the Flames right off the bat. Probably significantly better and for much longer.
Hard to blame the Kraken though. That is 100% on the Flames' franchise for continuing to waltz in mediocrity year after year and be seemingly content with it as long as season ticket holder continue to line up and the arena is full. At one point the Brodano pairing was one of the best pairings in the league for more than a couple years. If Gio leaves, Flames will have lost both with nothing to show for it. Now THAT is 100% on the Flames' ineptitude to get anything good for them, as is tradition with this franchise.
I love Gio too, but his run here has come to an end. Like Iggy, I want to see him get a couple runs at a cup before he calls it a career. While I'll be sad to see him gone if that happens, I'll be happy to see him play for a good team during their rookie season, probably go on to have a great season, and if not he'll go to a contender at the deadline where he can be the veteran player that locker room rallies around. Iggy might not have gotten that perfect ending, but I sure AF hope Gio does.
Flames get the culture shift they desperately need. Gio get's a couple good cup runs. Fans here to cheer him on. Win-win-win.
