I saw today that Dom L from the Athletic has Gio as a 1D by his metric with a contract value at 9m for next season.

I don't think Dom"s metric is the be all, end all, but pretty impressive nonetheless.

You could make a case that the Flames would be justified in spending assets to keep him.
