But wait! That's 2021-22 salaries, it doesn't account for UFA/RFA signings then? Do UFA/RFA picks have to be signed to a contract for the expansion draft on July 21st? or can they be picked and signed later? ugh so confusing hahaha
I think exposed UFAs have to agree to a contract and be signed prior to the expansion draft. Both Engelland and Haula were signed by Vegas prior to the draft. Haula was an RFA. I’m not sure what the rule is for RFAs, and if Seattle would have to submit their minimum qualifying offer like teams are required to do in regular times. The regular qualifying offer date is July 29th this year.

How signing/salary for RFAs works in regards to the draft cap # needs sureLoss or getbak!

Can we get Scorpion working to confirm?

edit: After searching for some more information it looks like UFA/RFA don’t need to be signed in any capacity but is likely in the case of not risking wasting the selection. If the player isn’t signed prior to free agency Seattle can only sign them to a 7 year deal vs 8 beforehand.
