I look at Tkachuk and his on-ice behaviour as the anti-captain. Give me a guy who brings an honest effort, plays on the line, but when it’s all said and done is respected in his own locker room and the opponent’s.
Could you see Tkachuk leading the team back on the ice to shake hands when a respected player on the other team plays his last game? Not me. I’d wager he’d be more likely to get a sneaky spear in when the refs aren’t looking.

Pulled what?
He gets in the oppositions face but he doesn't go out intentionally hurting people. He's no Marchment or Tom Wilson.
If the Caps can have Wilson's back after all he's done, the Flames should have Tkachuk's back.
Guess what, the Caps are a Championship calibre team and the Flames aren't close because they don't understand what it means to be a team.
