If we end up losing Gio, it is what it is, but I am a little concerned in about hat comes next and how they are going to try and fill not only his on ice position, but his leadership role as well.

Not sure what your concern about the next captain is. Gio has not lead the team to anything. They've been garbage in the playoffs, theres lots of speculation of problems in the dressing room given Tkachuk's regression, they've ripped through coaches like no one else and at 6.75 Gio has negative value on the team. Giving up any sort of asset to shield him from Seattle should be a friable offense. The team is going no where with or without Gio. So long, time to move on for both.
