Since entering the league in 2013, Landeskog is 32nd in league scoring (tied with Toews), just behind Hall and Mark Stone, and just ahead of Monahan and Johansen.

His PPG average puts him up there with Tkachuk, Forsberg, Laine, Zibanejad, and ahead of guys like Couture and Nylander. Over the past 2 seasons, his PPG average is roughly a point per game.

If you are just considering offense, forwards in the same 30th to 35th vicinity have cap hits of roughly $7.5 million AAV.

But, Landeskog is 28th in hits with over 1,000 since that time. The Flames forwards with the closest to that right now is Tkachuk with just over 500 Backlund with just over 400 (for context). Tkachuk does have a better hits/60 measurement though.

Add to that, Landeskog is one of the best leaders and plays a physical game. Not to mention, he is active in the community and oozes personality, which would make him very marketable in Calgary.

I could see a team easily offering north of $7-7.5 million on a long term deal, and $8 million on a short term deal.
I agree with these numbers and basically what your saying is why I’m not interested. Based on these numbers he probably is getting at least $8 mil. I would struggle to give it to him based on the fact that he plays a very large percent of his ice time with 2 elite players and 1 that is considered as good as it gets. I’m not suggesting he’s a complete mooch like a guy like Kassian a couple years ago but he no question the 3rd best player on the line. We could sign him and play him with monahan and mangiapane and find out he’s a $5 or $6 mil guy making $8+
