Neal had a decade of production before he signed his deal and was a relatively key player in back to back finals runs.
Hyman has a career high 41pts and is 29. It is a monumental mistake to give him 6-7 years term and pay him as a top line player.
This reminds me of Cody Frasen looking for 5x5 just a product of the Leafs hype machine.
Hyman at most deserves what Toffoli signed which was 4 years around 4.75M. 6x6 is lunacy

You're just making the comparison on points. Neal is slow, and is a trigger man. Always was. He brings (brought) little else. Never did.
Hyman is a buzz saw. Very different, and much better player. Also, the career high 41 points completely misses the point. He has 37 in 51 games 2 years ago, then 33 in 43 last year. That's 70 points in 94 games. Mangiapane, by comparison, has 77 points in his last 168 games.
