There are first overall picks that don’t even last in the league

Semantics as to whether Backlund is a 3C or a 2C but to say anything available at #11 is a highly likely to end up that good is delusion. Svechkov is more likely to not even stick in the league then to develop into a player that good

For starters he doesn’t even project to be a center at the NHL level. He plays more wing right now and even most centers get moved to the wing after they are drafted
