My theory, spoilered because I'm not sure what is spoiler and what is speculation!

I think that there is a whole Wizard of Oz angle that people are overlooking here. I mean, some of it is really in your face, especially in that last episode. I think that the difference is that in the Loki series, Oz is going to end up being the girlfriend of a real big bad.

Silvie and Loki are Dorothy and Toto.
