While I don't think a largely outdoor event like Stampede will necessarily lead to a ton of spread, there's plenty of evidence from other places about the potential risks of going with business as usual too quickly. The Netherlands is a good example; they have pretty similar vaccination stats to Alberta (65% 1st dose vs 63% in Alberta and 39% 2nd dose vs 45% in Alberta), and their cases have exploded in the last 10 days:
