Also, I was under the impression that a NTC can only be added for a player’s UFA years. That’s why Johnny’s NTC only kicks in this season for example. Therefore, It’s counter intuitive, for me, that a team would be restricted in dealing a player still under its control during his RFA years.

Ok I wasn’t sure. Maybe they can trade him but it will be a rental deal if it gets to that.
Tkachuk and Gaudreau can resign this off season and I’m sure treliving has had conversations already. If they aren’t going well or they refuse to talk this summer they both need to move and the return is probably going to be less than what people want. I’d rather take a chance on tarasenko and get more than trade these guys for just late first rounders. Based on recent Eichel rumours teams aren’t paying and he has 5 years left on his deal and is much more valuable than either of our guys
