Sure, but at the same time this is a team that has Sutter at helm, and I’d rather give him a Selke-caliber center who would easily be the perfect 1-2 with Lindholm. It’s worked before with the Kings and Kopitar. And, it would be extremely difficult to matchup against the Flames with a top 3 center trio of ROR, Lindholm, and Backlund. Put Mangiapane with ROR and another two way player on that line (LW or RW) and you’ve got a great shut down line.
I’d want a sweetener for sure, but ROR’s defensive capabilities are better than anyone on this team. We also have to take account that Tkachuk’s new contract is going to probably be 9m+.
But, as we’ve already established for quite a while, we can get much more and/or much better in a trade outside of St. Louis.
