The rules require Seattle to take a combined cap hit for next season of at least 60% of the cap ($48.9 million) in the expansion draft, so they will likely need to take a few big money deals.
Of course, that's only an average of $1.63 million per team, so they shouldn't need to take very many big contracts to offset any RFA or small-money players that they take. They definitely shouldn't need to take on any absolute disaster deals like Duchene's just to hit the floor.
