The New Jersey Devils have acquired two veterans in John Tavares and Jacob Slavin. Alongside Slavin the Devils have also acquired young sniper Denis Gurianov.

"We needed to continue revamping our roster, specifically on the DF side. So we brought in the defenseman with the highest DF rating". In a failed attempt to acquire another high DF d-man the Devils have to switch its focus on Slavin.

"We have been after Gurianov for quite some time going back to being the GM of the Avalanche so we are extremely excited to finally have him."

The Devils also wanted to address the lack of veterans and leadership on the team so they brought in John Tavares.
