A player that could fill Monahans roll (as a 1A/B centre, as disheartening as that is) isn't coming back unless he's a piece in a package in a "hockey trade". Thats a hard trade to broker form either side because of the perceived value that both sides are prioritizing.

TDL trades are almost always 'market value'. You can argue the Flames should have played their hand differently with Iggy, but he always held the hammer and could hold firm on 0-1 teams if he wanted.

Given the contract situations, I think the + would be on our side. CAR's MO is to hold a firm line on contract negotiations, which doesn't seem very compatible with Tkachuk.
CAR has a ton of other assets they'd move before Necas.
Necas is expansion exempt, too.
Something around Trocheck for Monahan makes more sense.
