The playoff qualifying format hasn't been determined yet.
One scenario may not even guarantee 3 teams per division - you only get 3-4 games against divisional oppts and 3 against the other div. in the conference.
Or straight divisional playoffs; 4vs div; 2vs everyone else; 6 games for special scheduling (whatever that means).
Bettman doesn't like it, but it's not inconceivable that they add a play-in round of some sort.
5v4 divisional would be the best IMO, but I'd be open to the NBA's model, too. A few ways that could go:
5v5 - loser out, winner plays loser of:
4v4 - (winner in)
But it would be a bit complicated which division the final 2 slots end up playing in.
I say go crazy and do each division:
3v4; winner in; loser plays winner of:
6v5
