This year feels like 2015 to be honest. Hitting is good, pitching is okay to not good, and the team just seems to be underperforming. I mean, the Jays have 3 of the 9 starting spots in the All Star game and they are only 3 games over .500? Seems hard to understand. I think there is a luck factor there for sure (Fangraphs estimates the Jays have lost 3-4 more games than they "should have").
Anyway, I guess I'm thinking we could see 2015 again if there is a shot in the arm, David Price type acquisition (2015 Price of course) by the deadline. The team is good enough, but just needs an injection of confidence in the pitching. Otherwise, I think the playoffs are missed and the post mortem is the sum was less than the parts.
