Spoiler!
I'm think that too, but I don't think he is behind it.
So there was 1 in 14,000,000 timelines where Thanos lost. So we know multiple timelines exist, so why aren't they all pruned? How could Dr. Strange see them all?
If I was anti-Thanos and in charge of the TVA, I would prune every event in the timeline that led to one of the failures, so they only timeline left, the "Sacred Timeline" would be the one where the rat brings Ant-man back, ensuring the Avengers victory.
If I was anti-Kang, like maybe Immortus, and had power over time, I might also create the TVA to "prune" all timelines that led to Kang the Conqueror destroying everything and leave only the timeline that resulted in his loss (or non-existense). I wouldn't be evil per say, not disintegrating people, but needing them out of the timeline that would bring Kang to power.
I wouldn't need to prune every timeline, only those nexus events that will eventually lead to Kang. And apparently, Loki is center to a lot of nexus events that lead to Kang. Including this one.
I can totally see the set up to the TVA being evil, Loki being the anti-hero and shutting them down. Only to discover in the end, that by doing so, they stopped the only thing holding Kang back and allow a timeline to occur which will unleash Kang upon the MCU.
But I was all over the place with WandaVision speculation, so Imma just enjoy what they give me, cause its been the best so far.
