Some of the “hearing” is probably just from other rumour mongers. And it gets morphed. Pundit A says “here’s a deal that would make sense”. Pundit B says “I’m hearing that a deal could work this way”. Pundit C says “I’m hearing this deal is being discussed “. Reader says “wow there’s a deal in the works”.
