What is really sad is Trotz would have liked to have coached in Calgary. I had opportunity to sit with him on a flight and we talked hockey for a couple of hours. Was really surprised just how much he knew about the Flames and their entire organization, like he had studied it. He knew all of the prospects and where he thought they could/would play and was very positive about the potential of the team. He said it was a team he would really like to coach.
Really sad the Flames couldn't get him in the fold. But when you have a number of world class coaches like Gulutzan, Peters, and Ward at your disposal, why would Trotz be on the radar.
