That is also grossly incorrect. The center line has been dragged way over to the right with the arrival of Fox and the neo-conservative echo chamber. The networks you refer to have not moved at all. They are slow moving, slow reacting dinosaurs that have set ways of doing things. In fact, they have done their best to appeal to bottom line that their corporate task masters have forced upon them (prior to the loss of the Fairness Doctrine the news desks ran at a loss for each network, and that was expected, but now they have to run at a profit and appeal to advertisers) and that has made them chase Fox and try to provide more "infotainment". Media has shifted to the right, not to the left. In fact, even the primary bastion of liberal thought, NPR, has been forced to move to the right and appeal to more and more conservative views and sponsors. The "left" in America has taken it on the chin, thanks to corporate ownership of the media. The myth that the media is "liberal" is just that. A myth that was created by the Nixon administration to sway public support for Vietnam and fight his potential impeachment, and repeated so often by conservatives that it has become fact.
