An accurate statement would have been that he was able to acquire 3 quality RWs during the off-season, by trading and signing one, and signing two others.
But we don't even know if the available free agents would have signed in Calgary. The notion that because one team was able to sign a player that the Flames should have or could have is a fallacy.
Including because we should come to grips with the idea that Calgary is probably one of THE least desirable teams to sign with.
