Only the exposed goalie can be an RFA.
To meet the F & D exposure requirements, the players need to be under contract for 2021-22. That's why they need to either sign one of the pending UFA forwards, trade for a forward who is under contract for next season, or expose one of the signed forwards who could otherwise be protected, like Backlund.
