This isn't world parity. It's lowest common denominator hockey with whoever wants to show up.
Goaltending is clearly the difference. Goalies stealing tournament games accounts for most of the wins. Canada & US goalies are at a disadvantage due to the larger ice surface (different angles). Only two Euro teams have goalies on their roster who have played in NA.

I would have to agree. Not many "a-list" players. Don't ask me how (coincidence) but I got to see the 2015 IIHF World Championship trophy today and see the names. Yikes. Crosby, Spezza, Burns, Mckinnon, Giroux, Seguin, Eberle, Hall, Ekblad, etc. And some guy named Smith as a goalie. That's an "a-list".
