I was hoping the Flames could have snuck in the playoffs because I honestly thought even with how bad they played they could come out of the Canadian division. The Leafs have a good roster with a very high end collection of forwards and a pretty decent blueline. Not having a dependable Freddy Andersen hurt for sure and I think they are in the market for a new goalie.
I can’t see them moving on from their big 4 forwards yet. Nylander always seems like the guy that will eventually go but then he was the best of the group in the playoffs. I am sure they wouldn’t mind entertaining a trade of Tavares but I assume he flexes his NMC immediately. Matthews is their franchise player and I just don’t see them trading Marner.
Would they consider moving Rielly who is still their number 1 Dman?
I am having a hard time seeing how they make major changes unless they are prepared to do something shocking
