Galley and Hrudey are right. When you’re a goalie, you play the shot that you expect coming off the stick, based on the shooter’s mechanics and how the puck usually comes off that stick. Seeing that puck on end, the shot has more air resistance, flutters and drops.

Sucks when it happens, but weird puck trajectories that happen are just things that happen. Not bad goaltending
