What was the score when he took the penalty? What was the momentum like at that time? What was the score after he served the penalty?
It may not have cost the game. Even a gaffe that leads to an OT goal isn’t the sole reason a game gets lots (why were you in OT to begin with, etc.). But it sure didn’t help win the game, did it?
