It's not just the gay thing though, it's the AIDS thing. I'm among the last people to jump on someone for making a joke in poor taste or a comment on air that the person would like to take back, but I honestly can't think of a worse thing to make a random, off the cuff joke about. The holocaust? Probably not even that.
