Hate to say it but advanced stats are for losers. Oilers basically swept the series if only advanced stats counted in the games outcome.
Vegas finally broke through the fancy stats and dominated the Wild last night as the Wild forced a game 6.
Tampa finally broke through and won fancy stats for the first time in the series lost game the game 4-1 and are headed into game 6
There will be the advanced stats pointing to the Jets losing the next series in 4 games be it against Toronto or even Montreal
PS Toronto has been beating Montreal in Fancy Stats. So the advanced stats guys can point to that and say see we were right |
Advanced stats may be telling of trends in a long 82 game season but it seems in the playoffs it comes down more to goaltending and opportunistic goal scoring over strong possession stats.
