The Wings hit a goldmine in the 1989 draft. Lidstrom, Fedorov, Konstantinov. Terry Murray worked with Devallano to take the team to another level, hired Hakan Andersson. Then they brought in Bowman to win. Holland was just there. Competent, but never the architect.
Jim Nill was right beside him and obviously was a better student. Even Yzerman has passed old Kenny.
He’s another short cut for a franchise that is always the smartest.
Imagine the team they could have with competent management. Not even excellent, just management that doesn’t draft coaches and scouts kids.
