That's great but wanting to re-sign is only part of the equation as the hard part is getting the money and term to work for both parties. I am fine with paying $$$ for Gaudreau but he can't be the guy carrying a line as teams figured that out playing with a one-dimensional shooter in Monahan and a plugger RW they could solely focus on Johnny and shut the line down. He looked a lot better playing with a guy like Tkachuk who can distribute the puck and take pressure off Gaudreau. One thing for sure is that if they invest long term in Johnny, this business of rotating bottom 6 pluggers on his RW has to end.
