I used to listen to the Jay & Dan Podcast regularly when they were down in L.A. doing Fox Sports. They had former NFL QB turned TV personality Brady Quinn on the pod one time, who seems like an awesome, laid back dude. He was talking about how different the shows are on the East coast, and how producers were encouraging it.
Quinn said during break, a producer told him what side to take on the issue (to ensure polarization), then said "Bury this guy!!! BURY HIM!!!!!" Jay & Dan were dying laughing about it, but it was very telling. I don't get how anybody could like that nonsense

That fact that Nault survived the last round of layoffs pretty well confirms this is the kind of stuff Kirsch is looking for on the broadcasts. He probably loved this morning's show. To be fair it has elicited discussions here so you can understand the reasoning. The hot take sports talk may be annoying but it does generate clicks and attention.
