Girgensons - UFA 2023
If you subtract Eichel, you only have 4 guys you really want/have to protect. If you can get 3 forwards better than Thompson/Bjork, you don't mind losing one of them. I suppose the bigger challenge would be taking back a D (though that should absolutely be a top priority):
Dahlin
Jokiharju
Risto (UFA 2022)
C Miller (UFA 2022)
They'd either have to include Risto, deal him separately, or simply expose him (SEA probably takes to flip at TDL).

I don't follow the Sabers that closely, but I was reading that they are still quite high on Thompson and when Bjork was acquired, it was with the intention of protecting him. I suppose anything can happen if a trade changes that dynamic, but I don't see why Buffalo wouldn't just wait until after the expansion draft and not have to worry about it at all, at which point, why not wait until after the draft and force teams to put 2022 picks in play.
As a side note, I find it funny that apparently Skinner won't waive his NMC. The one player that doesn't want out is the worst contract in the league. That is just so Buffalo.
