When I said earlier that this team doesn't need an Eichel, I meant it. What are we going to do with him, exactly? Tell him to drop the puck back to Johnny on the PP and then go hard into the corner to get it when it's dumped it in at the redline? Tell him to stand in front of the net and don't move in case Michael Stone gets the puck on net?

What about 5 on 5? What's he going to do? Will he be the dumper, the chaser or the grinder? I haven't watched a lot of Sabres' hockey, so I'm not sure which one of these Calgarian Qualities are his forte. He looks like he's scored a lot of points in his career, which is great, but can he keep up with superstars like Simon and Robinson on his wings?

How is he in the dressing room? This is a very tight-knit team that doesn't take kindly to players who go to museums and art galleries and like winning games. Will he be ok with that?

I mean we're going to have to pay a lot to get him, so we should figure out if he's going to fit into this organization's deep-rooted and results-driven culture first.


Edit: Sticking to my earlier assertion, what this organization needs more than anything else is an enema. Get rid of the sh*t that's been stuck to every crevice of this org since the late 80s. Flush it out. Start over. Otherwise, we're just paying an arm and a leg for another talented player who's going to accomplish literally nothing for us.
