The only reasons to ship him out at any point would be to:
1. Improve the team
2. Worsen the team for a tank, thus improving our own draft position
#2 is still on the table from a speculative perspective, but I think we all know this organization doesn’t tank (because they like being a bubble team by design), so then it’s into #1 and yeah - we’d be selling low in a “hockey trade” situation, so it’s not a good time.
Hopefully his hip surgery sees him recover his past offensive glory and suddenly makes him a capable defensive centre.
