This is very interesting. Kind of a mixed bag of news, knowing that he is more likely to be traded since it seems like the relationship has soured but also learning that he has a pretty serious injury.
It's going to take a really good offer to get him, but if you look at what it took to get guys like O'Reilly, Seguin, and Thornton, teams just aren't able to extract a huge number of important pieces in these trades. Given how much Sutter talks about the dearth of elite talent on the Flames, you'd expect that he is pushing for Eichel. It would also be interesting to hear how Sutter compares Eichel to a guy like Kopitar.
