My 1080Ti started acting up a few weeks ago and ended up failing about a week ago, deadlocking the system as soon as any hardware acceleration was engaged (ie: loading any driver other than the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter). Best possible timing, y'know, since the GPU market is so consumer friendly right now. I was able to get a 1070 off a friend for cheap and sent the 1080Ti to Asus for out of warranty repair, deciding that if the cost was as much to repair as getting a new card via war10ck3d's Twitch stream, I would just pony up and buy one of those cards.
After a few disheartening days of watching cards show up only to discover they're part of $2,500-$3,000+ NewEgg bundles, f--k it. I'm paying for the repair of the 1080Ti. Still cheaper than buying a new card right now.
