At this point it’s just unionized job protection.
Have the guys who made a career playing that role run the pension programs or something. Since those guys should be most concerned about and experienced with the results of financial planning (short careers, no superstar money). I was good the pure knuckle chucker role being allowed to gracefully bow out… but we’re there now. They shouldn’t be running the dept. of player safety ffs.
