When we faced, pretty sure it was, Colorado he was generating offence and even had some breakaways and a penalty shot and couldn’t bury them. If your game doesn’t translate you aren’t even generating chances.
Johnny was in his funk where he was snake bitten on breakaways, mostly because he only tried to deke and tuck it fivehole. He seems to be shooting more and even scored a snipe on Montreal on a breakaway not too long ago.
This made up storyline that Johnny can’t succeed in the playoffs cause he is too small is just that, made up.
You don’t generate offence if you don’t have it in you so if you want to ridicule him it was lack of finish but don’t pretend like he is completely invisible out there and can’t do anything creatively when the playoffs start.

Cmon man, Johnny Gaudreau had 1 assist in that entire series. No eye test can excuse those numbers.
I also never mentioned his size, but now that you've brought it up you can't say it doesn't play a part in his inability to gain open ice in tight checking, leading to forced plays and constant turnovers. Which is really what most people remember from that series.
He had a good series against a injury riddled Winnipeg Jets team though, I'll give you that.
Love Johnny, but time to be honest.
