In it's current state this team can not be successful with both Monahan and Backlund. Monahan is not outproducing Backlund anymore and Backlunds game is far more rounded. They need to get Monahans salary slot to be a top 6 producing right winger.

I don't think switching out one player does much of anything though. By this time next year they need to have all three of Monahan, Giordano, and Gaudreau traded in my opinion and be working towards pretty much changing out every player within the next 4 years. But I don't see that happening.
