I just hate the fact that all this is happening in an expansion year. With teams needing to worry about protection lists, I don’t see too many that are going to be willing to make trades that end up adding contracts in return for picks and prospects. It really poor timing to start a rebuild. Add to that a flat cap and I think we are going to be handcuffed or accepting pennies on the dollar. Free agents are going to have little bargaining power as well so teams will probably look at that before trading.
