Monahan and Neal are 2 very interesting comparables. They’re both triggermen who lack pace in their game. Both roughly the same size. Defensively they leave a lot to be desired and they both need a speedy playmaker in order to hide their inability to create their own shot.
Personally, I’d like to know who’s idea it was to add Neal and why they thought a line of Gaudreau-Monahan-Neal was ever a good idea. Will go down as one of Treliving’s worst decisions in his entire tenure. It absolutely crippled his salary cap structure and left major holes in his lineup. Treliving shouldn’t scout any right wings ever again, ever.
Lazar = swing and a miss
Brouwer = swing and a big miss
Neal = swing and an even bigger miss
3 strikes and you’re out
