But as for easy? No, that’s a good (/lucky) shot placement. Same as when Johnny scored on Montreal
I say good / lucky because the shooter intends to shoot it generally there, but it’s tough to be that accurate. An inch here or there makes a huge difference. And if you don’t believe me, just look at how often the Flames try to pick corners and can’t even hit the damn net
If you’re a goalie, you’ve been beaten on that shot too
Your trapper doesn’t cover all of the space in that top corner, and you can only move your arm so much in the fraction of a second that it takes after the shot leaves the stick.
Shooters sometimes find holes and sometimes hit the goalie. Luck plays a role.
This reminds me of when a Flame shot it on Allen and hit his pad 10 inches off the ice, people were fawning over the pad save, then Markstrom lets one in, over the pad inside the post (the Iggy special), and people are saying ‘he’s gotta have that one’
If you’re a goalie, I’d be surprised if you don’t look at it like this

Or “much easier”…. Relax and don’t get too tied into one word I used when I clearly linked it to Johnny’s snipe at the top of the page.
