I go to the sight enhancement clinic at rockyview every few months, and all the diagnostic equipment seems straight out of the 80s. Have there been any substantial technological developments when it comes to testing eyes?
For instance, I also go to the Southern AB eye center every few months for over a decade now and the difference is unbelievable. Everything's lasers, computer scans, etc, none of that spin the dials and asking if a or b looks more clear, or holding up scratched pieces of plastic to see if it makes double vision better or worse.
I realize the equipment at the two clinics serves different functions, and I imagine all equipment is hella expensive, but It does seem vision testing equipment has lagged behind. Especially compare to say dentists who have a new arsenal every 5 year.
