Of course he comes back...hangs near the blueline waiting to head back out. Then flies the zone looking for a pass that he can then turn over at the opposition blueline or skate into the corner and get pushed off the puck. Its a great strategy.

He is an offensive wizard WHEN HE HAS space. Not unlike other elite players but the difference is, most of those types of guys create their own space....he simply does not or cannot. That is an issue.
Let me ask you this...do you think he is worth what he is paid right now? Last year?

I would absolutely give him his raise to stay providing it is market value. Is he worth what he is paid right now? Easily. With all that has gone with this team and being saddled most of the time with a 4th line RW he is about 70 points pro rated to 82 games for under $7M a year.
