A Wonderful Time for a Slump

Bottom 5 team in the league in terms of points percentage with an abysmal .333 since April 3rd. That is dreadful.

MTL has a losing record (13-15-7) since starting the season 7-1-2. They got VAN to thank for their hot start.

So after we beat Edmonton, Weber called a team meeting, then went to to the coach to turn down their day off and have a practice instead. Then drop two games in a row to Calgary by a combined score of 9-4.
My question is, wtf did they practice??

Not sure, but the fact that ..
1)Ducharme stood before the media 2 days ago and explained the Habs decision to cancel their day off and practice, that energy and drive, would transfer into the next game against the Flames as well..

2)Ducharme mentioned that the Habs didn't play their game against the Flames the last 2 times..

and after saying all this, last night they went out and laid a complete egg.. Thats terrifying!
I dont expect them to win every game, im realistic, but for God sake, if you can't string together more than 1 win at a time, and continue taking 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards, that stuff is annoying, and unfortunately gives me a bad vibe about that locker room right now.

Habs never win on back-to-back, not the first and not the second game. Maybe it happened once against Vancouver but I’m sticking with never.

I'd rather miss the playoffs than hand the Leafs their first series win in like 20 years

The flames are killing us............since Sutter took over, the flames have 9 wins, and 5 are vs the Habs...
Sure wish we could play 3 more vs the Nucks right now...

Why can't we beat the flames

Terrible matchup for the habs much in the same way as the Sens.

If you clog the neutral zone, and keep gaps tight, the habs will struggle, and those elements just happen to be in the DNA of the flames and sens.

I find it amusing that Ducharme will not let the media know who plays in net tonight, because he doesn't want the Flames to know... Ducharme, Buddy, I think the Flames are in the Habs head right now, NOT the other way around, lol.

And on another note, I doubt the Flames really care who gets the start for the Habs anyway, as in the last 3 matchups between these two teams, they limited the Hab's shots on goal to a pitiful amount. If they take away the Habs offense, who really cares which goaltender is in the other net, whether its Primeau, Allen, or both of them at the same time! This stuff is gold, habs comedy writes itself, it truly does.

Pretty sure he's not announcing the line-up because he can't. They maybe submitted Drouin's injury to the NHL late today in hope they would accept an emergency recall, or something along those lines.

They're trying desperately to put both Caufield and Evans in the line-up. If they can't, Cayden will play.

Habs simply don't want to be here. There is no urgency in any aspect of their game.
The complete lack of poise in our defensive end and the inability to transition will be the death of the team. It seems like 75%+ of transition attempts are either turnovers, high dumps for a change, or end up not even getting out of our zone for various reasons.
This team is dead in the water. Best case scenario is we miss playoffs, get a chance at a good pick, and clear house. We need a new front office with a new vision. This is Berg's all in roster and we would NOT be in a playoff spot in a normal season.
It's painful to watch, I can't do it anymore.
If we make the playoffs we are going to be the team that gives this Leafs core their first round win. It won't even be close.

This team is in deep trouble. Absolutely zero creativity, horrible d corps, poor special teams, horrible breakout strategy and a coach who has no idea what to do to fix it and a general manager who thinks he has done a great job and a team owner who agrees. And from reading comments on EOTP lately, the fans are beginning to accept it. Like we are just so used to mediocrity that we accept it. I really hope we miss the playoffs. And I really hope it leads to a huge change in this organization
